Created On: Thursday, 08 November 2007 Hits: 41 ![]() Avril Lavigne Lavigne announced the details of the two-month "Best Damn Tour" during a media event at the Whisky nightclub in West Hollywood, where she performed three songs for about 40 fans. Key stops include Chicago's Allstate Arena (March 21), Toronto's Air Canada Centre (April 7), and Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre (May 4). The tour will support Lavigne's third album, "The Best Damn Thing," which spent two weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. pop charts in April. It has sold 1.2 million copies to date in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Lavigne said she was "excited to go out and to play live and perform" after spending much of the year promoting her album. Accompanied by a five-man band, she performed acoustic versions of her first U.S. chart-topper "Girlfriend," her new single "Hot," and her early smash "Sk8ter Boi." {mos_ri} |
