Annie Lennox Sony BMG have denied claims that they dropped Annie Lennox after a twenty-five year association with the singer.
Quotes attributed to Lennox, which appeared in the Daily Mirror yesterday (January 15th), suggested that the record label had ignored her various attempts to contact them.
The former Eurhythmics singer is said to have described their treatment as “a kick in the teeth”.
However, in a statement, one of Sony BMG’s most senior figures said that Lennox’s comments had “no relevance to the expiry of her contract."

"We are immensely proud to have worked with Annie over more than two decades," said Sony BMG chairman Ged Doherty.
He added that Lennox, who doesn’t have a current contract with the label, “now has a choice as to whether she wants to continue to work with us in the future. We very much hope that she will."
