Delays in dealing with driving licence charge angers judge.

Britney Spears could face a court trial for driving without a valid licence, a US judge warned today (January 28).

The troubled pop singer has been granted an adjournment by Los Angeles Superior Court judge TK Herman until February 20 – but no more delays will be allowed.

He stated that the trial would be forced within 30 days if both sides do not agree how to continue with the case, reports BBC News.

The charge relates to an incident in August when Spears allegedly hit a parked car in August and left the scene.

Charges were dropped in October after she paid compensation to the driver of the vehicle.

However Spears was reportedly driving illegally with a Lousiana licence at the time of the incident, and applied for a California licence one week after charges were filed.

Her lawyer, Michael Flanagan, said the delay was caused because a camera to take Spears’ photo for the licence had not been available at the time she initially applied.
