Also nabbing two nods at the British music awards event, are Take That and Arctic Monkeys. The former took home British Single for "Shine" and British Live Act while the latter pocketed British Group and British Album for "Favourite Worst Nightmare".
On their acceptance speech, frontman Alex Turner said, "We are the Arctic Monkeys. And we are the most fantastic." The Monkeys won the exact same categories at last year's event.
Also getting a share of 'winners light' at the event held Wednesday, February 20 are Kate Nash, Kylie Minogue, Mark Ronson and Kanye West. Taking the special prize for Outstanding Contribution to Music was Paul McCartney.
Ironically, Amy Winehouse, who almost swept all six categories she was nominated in at Grammys earlier this month, did not receive a single nomination although she is the featured artist in Ronson's nominated single, "Valerie". She was however, featured as a performer that night, singing "Valerie" and "Love Is a Losing Game" while telling the crowd to give a noise for her incarcerated husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
