ADateZ Logo French purveyors of jazzy chillout, Air, have announced a re-release of their widely acclaimed debut album 'Moon Safari'. Originally released back in 1998, the limited 10th anniversary edition of the album will come with a plethora of extras for real Air fanatics. The re-issue will hit the market on 31st March 2008 and will contain a handful of interesting extras. As well as the album, the full package features a bonus CD with several remixes, sessions, rarities and radio broadcasts, a book and a DVD containing a documentary about Air producers Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel.
The 1998 release of Moon Safari caused a stir in the international dance music scene as the jazzy electronica of the French duo was considered unorthodox, yet far ahead of its time. As the album combined poppy elements to a more jazz-electronica vibe, some songs found their way on to TV charts while others have been frequently used in commercials. Moon Safari would eventually evolve into a multi-platina seller and is still regarded a milestone in contemporary electronic music.
