 Justice
Held in New York City last Thursday, the sold-out awards ceremony also honored Hot Chip for the DJ Album of the Year and Coachella for the Music Festival of the Year. Hailing from Paris, Ed Banger's Justice is proving why it is playing at such venues as the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City or at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
Hot Chip's mix for the DJ Kicks series beat out such nominees as Balance 012 by Lee Burridge, Fabric 36 by Ricardo Villalobos, and Booka Shade's installment for DJ Kicks. The award winning mix featured tracks by Dominik Eulberg, Gabriel Ananda, New Order, and themselves.
Finally, Coachella which featured such headliners as Rage Against The Machine, Björk, and Red Hot Chili Peppers beat out the likes of Bonnaroo (Sasha and Digweed) and Lollapalooza (Daft Punk). Founded in 2001, with its first annual awards ceremony in 2004, the PLUG Independent Music Awards embrace and honor the independent music community and its fans.
