Pete Tong Causes Chaotic in Devon Party

BBC Radio 1 jock and house music honcho Pete Tong caused an enormous party crash after a 'shout out' for a girl's 18th birthday party in Devon last Friday. The DJ revealed the actual location of the mansion party after which more than 1,000 people unexpectedly showed up.

According to the girl's mother, the flock caused thousands of pounds worth of damage at her house, whereas the family had originally invited only 100 guests. "When I first heard this shout out - that Pete Tong had done - I was absolutely livid. And I think I did make a kind of off-the-cuff comment somewhere along the line", said Mrs Brooks.

"I hope that they will review their policy on their show, the shout out show, about giving addresses away and certainly in rural areas." However, the BBC has stated that the DJ did not give out exact details of the venue and the party was also advertised on school posters and on Facebook. "He gives shout outs on his show every week, listeners are familiar with this format" replied a BBC spokesman. "He would never knowingly give an identifiable address for a private party."

One of the invitees claims to have seen revellers destroying everything in their path. "I saw grand pianos being smashed, I saw antique furniture being piled on top of each other and jumped on, I saw pictures being taken from the wall and smashed - just really bad.". Eye witnesses said the uninvited gatecrashers later continued to cause a nuisance on the streets.
