The Cribs Lee Ranaldo performs live with the trio.
Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo joined The Cribs live onstage for the first time ever last night (March 20) in Brooklyn, to perform spoken word track ‘Be Safe’ from their ‘Men’s Needs’ album.
The band tried to make the live collaboration happen last summer when they performed at Mercury Lounge, but Ranaldo had to pull out last-minute due to illness.
As previously reported, the band had recently been performing the song with Ranaldo’s part played on a screen.
During their sold-out set at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg, the band performed a cover of ‘Bastards Of Young’ in front of a crowd that included Kate Nash and Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos who produced ‘Men’s Needs’.
The Cribs played:
‘Don’t You Wanna Be Relevant?’ ‘Our Bovine Public’ ‘Hey Scenesters’ ‘Girls Like Mystery’ ‘Moving Pictures’ ‘Bastards Of Young’ ‘Adolescent’ ‘I’ve Tried Everything’ ‘Women’s Needs’ ‘Men’s Needs’ ‘Mirror Kissers’ ‘Another Number’ ‘I’m A Realist’ ‘Ancient History’ ‘Be Safe’
