Awakenings Festival 2008 Adds Fifth Area

Saturday 28th June will see another edition of Monumental's acclaimed Awakenings Festival to be held at its anchored location in Spaarnwoude. This year there is the addition of a second open area to the festival increasing the number of areas to five.

As always, the event comes with an impressive list of both national and international DJs and live acts. 60 artists from 12 countries will attend to present their vision on techno music, stretching from minimalistic clicks to bulldozer beats.

This year's edition will feature some of the biggest artists in the field of techno, presenting perhaps the most interesting and diverse lineup the festival has yet seen. Confirmed artists include Richie Hawtin, Kevin Saunderson, Dave Clarke, Mauro Picotto and Stacey Pullen. Dutch input is provided by the likes of Steve Rachmad, Rejected, Anoesjka, and Kabale Und Liebe among others.

Rocco Veenboer, owner of Monumental Productions, has announced the return of the festival to its 2002 location near the lake on the anchored terrain, "the relocation comes with a lot of extras for our visitors, including a nice little lake to swim in" says Rocco.

With 5 stages, the Awakenings festival will host a wide variety of techno sounds and welcome 20,000 visitors. However the intimate atmosphere the festival is known for will be preserved to guarantee the festival will be just as unique as previous editions.

Tickets for the Awakenings festival are on sale for EUR 41,75 on the awakenings website and through Ticketbox.
