UK DJ Danny Howells has sensationally announced this morning via his agency that he is to pursue a different career, appearing in London-based soap series Eastenders from June.

The shock news was confirmed by his management, who just stated on the phone exclusively to 365Mag that "Appearing as a regular in the much-loved BBC series is a chance to good to turn down for Danny".

Hi management/press company will issue the following statement which will go out later today, they said: "Danny has long been wanting to find direction away from the hectic nightlife, and the opportunity to appear in one of Britain's best loved soaps is a chance too good to miss.

However, this will not signal the end of Danny's musical career."Danny is even looking at the possibility of setting up his decks in the Queen Vic as a regular gig. He will be loved by the cast, from Phil Mitchell to Stacy Slater."

It is no secret that Danny has long wanted to become part of the soap, which airs on weeknights on BBC1, wanting a bit part initially. However, BBC bosses were so impressed with his dress sense and acting ability behind the decks that he has been written into some major parts over the summer.

Filming for the first series is expected to air in early June, although it is unknown whether the UK DJ will be a long-term fixture in the soap.
