Matt Bellamy Follows His Dad's Steps at Royal Albert Hall
Muse
Muse frontman Matt Bellamy has said the band's performance at the Royal Albert Hall last weekend (April 12) now makes him the second member of his family to have played the legendary venue.

The trio performed at the London concert hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust's week of gigs, with their frontman admitting he'd always wanted to play there.

"My dad [George Bellamy] was in a band [The Tornados], and he played here three times and he always said it was his favourite place," Bellamy Jr. told Virgin Radio.

"I've always meant to play here. I suppose we've played all the well known venues in London – it's a pretty important place to say we have played. We've always talked about doing something with an orchestra and this is the sort of place that you would do it. We're not going to be doing that today but I suppose we will get a taste for it."

The Muse frontman added that his father had been right and that he was impressed by the Royal Albert Hall.

"It's immense. It's weird, everyone said 'it's smaller then you think' but it's actually bigger then I expected," said Bellamy. "To me, it's quite overwhelmingly large."
