Kelly The election of an impartial jury is seen as crucial in the trial, which Cook County Circuit Judge Vincent Gaughan described as “a high-profile case.” Sixteen jurors will be selected in total, four of which will be alternates. The R&B star was arrested in February 2002 after a videotape was sent to his local paper the Chicago Sun-Times. Kelly was later charged with 21 counts relating to child pornography, of which seven has since been dropped. If found guilty the singer, who denies the charges, could face up to 15 years in prison. |
