The Catz Catmuzik is the Catz (formerly the Cheshire Catz) new label, which mixes up the minimal madness of today with the Chi-town sound of yesteryear.
The Catz have been on the scene for a few years now, rocking their own 'wonky house' sound - so now's the perfect time to highlight their skills, with a regular session at East London's Club Aquarium, starting with the launch party on Friday 19 May with Marc Romboy and Andre Crom as headliners.
After being made Mixmag Future Heroes back in 2004, the Catz have managed to carve out their own niche in the international club scene, from being proclaimed 'East End Heroes' by the Guardian newspapers for their infamous Cheshire Street free parties (in the Brick Lane street which was home to one of the Catz at the time) to landing gigs at all London's biggest clubs.
And now their touring takes them around the world, not just the country, as the Catz have taken their stripped-down electronic house sound to France, Canada, Russia and Australia.
Special guest Marc Romboy's one of the most original names on the scene, with his 'electronic music with a breakdance appeal', plus his new Contrast album out soon on his Systematic label. He's sure to appeal to fans of the prevailing sparse electronics sounds of the night, rather like fellow guest Andre Crom.
He's already a favourite on the London afterhours scene, with his ominous productions on Tim Sheridan's Veryverywrongindeed Recordings (and a top remix on Catzmuzik) he's definitely a producer to watch out for.
And don't forget Dan Catz himself, the darkest techy feline in town…plus there's Big Daddy of Playtime infamy and new night NO!, who's leading the backroom charge with some newer underground names like Tred Benedict and Turic.
