Created On: Wednesday, 14 May 2008 Hits: 207 ![]() Junkie XL His remix of Eagles Of Death Metal's Don't Speak forms the backdrop of the groundbreaking video, already out in some countries and the internet, that will go in high rotation during the coming Euro 2008 championship. The commercial is a real piece of eye candy. The video is filmed from a Dutch footballer's view and sees him being scouted from his amateur club (by Arsene Wenger himself) to Arsenal, from which the protagonist eventually gets to play in the Dutch national team competing for the Euro 2008 Cup. Junkie XL has done a remix for Nike before: his remix of Elvis Presley's Little Less onversation became a world wide hit in 2002. This time, Junkie XL has been working on a track of the Eagles of Death Metal. This musical project by Queens of the Stone age's Josh Homme is one of Tom's favorite bands. "I've been a fan of the Eagles Of Death Metal for years, so it was a big honor to be doing a remix. "I really hope they reach out to a bigger audience with this commercial, its a fantastic band." says unkie XL. Meanwhile, Junkie's latest album Booming Back at You, is climbing the charts rocket style. The album has been number one in the American electronic album top 100 on iTunes and Tom is playing sold out events during his American tour at the moment. Over 10,000 revellers witnessed the Dutch superstar perform at this year's Coachella festival. On 31st May, Junkie can be seen on his home ground during the Emporium festival. So, for all those UK lads who can't see their own team competing for the Euro Cup, they at least have a kick ass commercial to look at during half time and you are all very welcome to join in our orange festivities! |
