Bob Marley Martin Scorsese has dropped out of directing a biopic of reggae superstar Bob Marley.
The director, well-known in the music world for his films on Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones, has had to withdraw due to 'scheduling conflicts'.
Jonathan Demme is set to replace him on the biopic, due to come out on February 6, 2010, the day that would have been Marley's 65th birthday.
Demme has worked on music-related projects as well as feature films, and has helmed live concert movies for artists such as Neil Young and Robyn Hitchcock.
As previously reported on ADateZ Inc., another Bob Marley biopic is currently in production. It is being produced by Bob and Harvey Weinstein and is based on Rita Marley's memoirs of life with her husband.
It has been speculated that Lauryn Hill may portray Marley's wife in the latter movie, which is being directed by Rudy Langlais.
