 Times New Viking Lo-fi indie rockers Times New Viking have mapped out an early summer tour behind their latest studio album, "Rip It Off," which hit stores in January.
The trio, which hails from Columbus, OH, will launch the tour in the Midwest, kicking off June 4 in Bloomington, IN. The 29-date trek will concentrate on clubs and small theaters, and is set run through late July.
The band will cap the outing with a July 20 appearance at Chicago's Pitchfork Music Festival.
"Rip It Off," released in January, is the band's third studio album and first release for Matador Records; the group issued its previous two albums--last year's "Times New Viking Present the Paisley Reich" and 2005's "Dig Yourself"--on indie label Siltbreeze.

Meanwhile, Two tracks from "Rip It Off" are available in MP3 form from the band's Matador mini-site. The "double A-sided" first single from the album includes the songs "(My Head)" and "R.I.P. Allegory," along with a cover of The Petticoats' "Allergy" and an original non-album track, "Western Civ."
