Father: 'Amy Winehouse Well enough to play Glastonbury Festival'

The singer is well enough to perform at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend, her father, Mitch Winehouse says.

Amy Winehouse's appearance at the event on Saturday (June 28), and performance at a concert in Hyde Park the day before, had been in doubt after she was diagnosed with a lung disease.

But Mitch Winehouse told BBC Newsbeat that his daughter will be able to fulfil her commitments.

"She will be well enough to be at Glastonbury, not could be," he said. "She's well enough to be at Glastonbury now."

Mitch also confirmed that his daughter was suffering from a small amount of emphysema.

"Really she can't even smoke anymore, let alone the other thing," he said, referring to Winehouse's well publicised problem with drugs.

"With patience, her lungs will recover completely. She's responding really well to treatment, she's flourishing."
