Wild In The Country Respond to Bjork Cancellation

Bjork had been due to play a headline slot at the bash on July 5, but the singer cancelled her scheduled festival appearance on Friday (June 27), claiming that organisers were unable to provide the stage requirements she needed. Bjork called the festival 'volatile', and questioned organisers' ability to supply the necessary equipment for her and other artists set to perform at the Stevenage bash. Since the announcement of the cancellation, festival organisers have released a statement denying the suggested inability. "We are obviously disappointed, having the utmost respect for Bjork as an artiste, and extend our best wishes to her," the statement read. "Contrary to what has been suggested, we have diligently provided all production requirements for all of the other acts appearing on this year's line-up. "Wild In The Country carries our reputation as event organisers, built up over 16 years of goodwill with our customers, and is about a great deal more than any one artiste. "We look forward to welcoming you all to Knebworth on July 5."
