Jimi Hendrix And Led Zeppelin Items Set for Auction

A guitar Jimi Hendrix burnt on stage more than 40 years and the last surviving drum kit of Led Zeppelin's late John Bonham is about to go to auction.

The items, together with Jim Morrison's final notebook of poetry and a signed Band Aid song-sheet, which includes the autograph of Michael Jackson, are expected to fetch over $1 million.

The auction will take place at the Idea Generation gallery on September 4.

Hendrix's famously set his 1965 Fender Stratocaster on fire during a performance at the London Astoria in 1967.

The legendary guitarist was taken to hospital with minor hand injuries following the incident, which came at the climax of his performance.

The guitar, which remains intact, is expected to fetch upwards of $1 million.
