According to Rolling Stone, Moretti's project is called Little Joy and features his girlfriend, Binki Shapiro, and their friend Rodrigo Amarante, formerly of Brazilian indie-rock group Los Hermanos.
The currently untitled album will be released this fall through Rough Trade sounds like Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vince Guaraldi and Sixties wall-of-sound girl groups.
Also playing in the band is their friend, Brazilian singer-guitarist Rodrigo Amarante, formerly of Los Hermanos.
Little Joy, which is also the name of a popular dive bar in the Echo Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles.
As previously reported, Moretti was recently spotted at the Los Angeles gig of another Stroke side project, Albert Hammond, Jr.
