Festival Cancelled after Pete Doherty Ban

Babyshambles, which is fronted by Pete Doherty, had been due to headline the event in Wiltshire but a court ruled that they could incite violence. They presented their views to North Wiltshire Magistrates who then orgered Moonfest organisers to strike Babyshambles from the bill. As a consequence of the cancellation the festival has been cancelled, reports BBC News. Organiser John Green blamed the police for the cancellation. He said it was "due to the ramifications presented to us by the actions of the police" that the decision had to be made. Organisers say they hope to contact everyone directly who purchased tickets for the festival. Doherty is understood to be planning a free performance in conjunction with the festival's organisers to make up for the cancellation.
