D. Ramirez to Headline The Shop at Pacha
D. Ramirez
D. Ramirez will be rocking the shop at Pacha on Saturday 11th October, which will be the perfect opportunity for him to showcase the venue's new, broader musical policy - and their equally new Martin Audio soundsytem too.

This event is actually the launch party for Club Azuli's new Headliners compilation series, of which D. Ramirez is the inaugural compiler.

In 15 years of making music, D. Ramirez has been a pop star (with the Lisa Marie Experience and his Top 10 track, Keep On Jumpin' back in the 90s) and been awarded an Ivor Novello Award (for his remix of Bodyrox' Yeah Yeah in 2007), and in the years in-between he's carved out a reputation as a silver-haired party-starter of the highest order.

So he was the perfect choice to mix the first of Azuli's new Headliners compilations. The raison d'être of these new comps is to highlight the contributions of some modern house music heroes, so who else could they turn to but their old friend Dean?

Ramirez - whose real name is the rather less exotic-sounding Dean Marriot - will recreate his Headliners mix with his tunes though the night at Pacha.

The mix itself comes out on Monday 29th September and features a double-CD full of everything from lush deep house to throbbing techno; including of course his own new productions like Shield, Reminder Of Jasper and the wonderfully-named Road Of Excess.

Backing up the very special 'headliner' are Australian electro-housers TV Rock. Their own brand of sonic filth has been impressing fans the world over, with hits like Been A Long Time becoming their signature tune.

And on warm-up duties is none other than Azuli boss Dave Piccioni; who's quite the house music hero himself, in our opinion.
