MGMT Plan to Collaborate with Chemical Brothers

MGMT have revealed that they are planning to collaborate with the The Chemical Brothers.

The duo also explained that they hope to follow up their debut album 'Oracular Spectacular' with a double album.

The band told Nme magazine that they had been exchanging e-mails with the UK dance producers and hoped to get to work on new material with them soon.

"We'll experiment with them to create a different sound," Ben Goldwasser explained. "They've collaborated with people like Noel Gallagher before and they have this psychedelic side to them, so we'll find common ground."

Speaking of their double album plans, the pair said that they were thinking about showcasing different sides of their music on the double discs, with one for pop music and another for their more psychedelic songs.

"We thought we'd go for the clichéd, overly-ambitious sophomore album," Andrew Van Wyngarden declared.

The pair did, however, warn fans not to expect the double album too soon - and said they may well change their minds about it in due course.

"It's several months off," said Goldwasser. "There is always the risk that by the time we get there we'll be on to something different."
