Guitar Hero III The makers of the 'Guitar Hero' computer games are working on a new title, 'DJ Hero', is slated for release next summer.
FreeStyleGames, a company owned by Activision, is currently developing the DJ simulation title, reports gaming blog Kotaku.com.
Little information of the details of the game has thus far been made available, although it is said that the controller resembles a turntable with simplified DJ features.
In that sense it is comparable to the lauded 'Guitar Hero' game, where players use a guitar-shaped controller.
However, there are more similarities as far as playability is concerned: The DJ Hero controller comes with a platter that can be used for scratching and is comparable to Guitar Hero's strum toggle.
Above the platter are three buttons for sampling, while other specs include a crossfader and a sound effects dial that acts more or less the same as Guitar Hero's whammy bar.
Although the controller is still subject to change, the actual form is a wireless controller with molded grooves so it will sit comfortably in the player's lap.
'DJ Hero' is set to include a number of mash-ups, with songs by 50 Cent, Beastie Boys, Beyonce and Jimi Hendrix all in the running for inclusion, pending licensing rights being granted.
