Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Announces The Nominees

Contributed By: Lion on The Table Created On: Monday, 22 September 2008 Hits: 53 Run DMC Metallica, Run DMC and The Stooges lead the list of nine acts up for induction next year into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Other nominees are Jeff Beck, Bobby Womack, Wanda Jackson, War, Little Anthony and The Imperials, and Chic, who were also on last year's ballot. The 2009 ceremony will be open to the public for the first time, and held in Cleveland, the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, for the first time since 1997, according to Billboard. :: story continues below :: The five acts with the most votes will be announced in January and inducted on April 4, 2009. Madonna, John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, The Ventures and The Dave Clark Five were inducted into the Rock Hall this spring.
