Madonna Madonna has been fined a total of £135,000 after her recent concert at London's Wembley Stadium overran, earlier this month.
The pop star finished 40 minutes later than planned at her gig on September 11 after taking the stage late, and was charged £50,000 for every fifteen minutes she exceeded past the curfew by venue authorities.
The late finish at the gig, part of Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour, reportedly caused a number of traffic problems for some gig-goers.
"Her people knew about the possible implications for going over the curfew but this is a pretty hefty fine, even for Madonna," a stadium source told The Sun newspaper.
The concert, which formed part of the singer's 27-date Sticky & Sweet world tour, was criticised by fans.
George Michael was fined nearly £130,000 when his Wembley gig overran in 2007, according to the newspaper.
