Native Instruments Released Traktor Scratch 1.2

Native Instruments have released a new update for their Traktor Scratch DJ software. Traktor Scratch 1.2 comes with several extensive additions for optimum digital DJing.

Traktor Scratch's latest update improves the performance capabilities of the hailed software with optimised vinyl tracking, improved real time looping, effects options and full iTunes integration. Looping has now been extended with a brand new function called 'manual loop', allowing DJ's to easily loop certain parts of tracks with beat grids.

Radio 1 Back to Miami

28th March marks the date of Radio 1’s return to Miami’s Winter Music Conference and they’re back in fine style.

Pete Tong and Annie Mac’s shows will be transmitted live from the Surfcomber hotel, with Tong joined by an all-star cast of fellow DJs and luminaries including Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Fedde le Grand, Bob Sinclar, Armand Van Helden, Frankie Knuckles, Deadmau5, Tommy Lee, Sam Sparro and Eric Prydz.

Electronic music is rapidly becoming a more important aspect of the two day festival. Whereas the event started out as a pure rock based happening, the past few years have seen the inclusion of lauded dance acts such as Roger Sanchez, Scissor Sisters and LCD Soundsystem to the lineup.

This year's edition sees the festival focusing on in fashion rock/electronica crossovers, with performances by the likes of Digitalism, Justice, Underworld, Chemical Brothers and 2Many DJ's.

Circoloco Move Up to Amsterdam

Having achieved legendary status at Ibiza's DC-10 venue, Circoloco now move up north for a special Queensday edition in the Netherlands as they set up camp the 30th April at Strand West Amsterdam. The organisation wants to bring the unique atmosphere from the Ibiza desert to Amsterdam and comes with a great lineup.

Air to Re-Release Moon Safari

French purveyors of jazzy chillout, Air, have announced a re-release of their widely acclaimed debut album 'Moon Safari'. Originally released back in 1998, the limited 10th anniversary edition of the album will come with a plethora of extras for real Air fanatics. The re-issue will hit the market on 31st March 2008 and will contain a handful of interesting extras. As well as the album, the full package features a bonus CD with several remixes, sessions, rarities and radio broadcasts, a book and a DVD containing a documentary about Air producers Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel.

Marco V Force to Cancel Gig in Syiria

Marco V has been forced to cancel a potentially groundbreaking DJ gig in Syria after receiving death threats.

V was to be the first international DJ to play the capital Damascus, but after threatening and aggressive messages and emails were sent to his management and left on his website he consulted Dutch and Syrian authorities and was advised to pull out of the gig.

"Obviously we get all kinds of comments on the message boards, mostly positive, some not so good, but never anything like the death threats we received this week,” commented V.

DJ Yoda to Promise Audio-Visual Extravaganza On UK Tour

DJ Yoda has promised that audiences will be subjected to an audio-visual extravaganza on his next UK tour.

The DJ has announced a 17-date UK jaunt, which will include an appearance at the Gatecrasher Summer Sound System on May 25th.

The DJ, who is well known for his live spectacle, will once again be armed with a Pioneer SVM-1000 to help sequence his music to unique visuals.

So, the action begins on Good Friday 21st March as Turnmills’ long-serving weekly club - The Gallery welcomes 18 veterans of the floor to say goodbye in style after nearly 13 years at the helm and over 650 parties.

The main room is filled by residents past and present as Judge Jules, Tall Paul, Seb Fontaine, Sister Bliss, Steve Lee, Gavyn Mytchel and Alex Anderson have the honour of taking the controls on the last night. Backroom fave Joy takes over the infamous T2, with old friends Brandon Block, Alex P, Lisa Loud, Daniele Davoli and Tania von Pear letting rip in the intimate space.
