Paul Van Dyk, Moby to Perform at Ultra Festival

Underworld, Calvin Harris also on the bill for Florida event.

Moby, Underworld, Paul Van Dyk and Calvin Harris are among the bands set to perform at the forthcoming Ultra Music Festival.

The tenth annual electronic event will take place March 28-29 at Bicentennial Park in Miami, Florida. It runs in conjunction with the Winter Music Conference and features more than 150 electronic artists and DJs spread out over seven areas each day.

D. Ramirez Announces US Tour

Dean Marriott's (aka D. Ramirez) first venture into production was in the mid-90s with partner Neil Hinde, under the pseudonym Lisa Marie Experience. After a successful release of Keep on Jumpin, Dean had a change of path and went from the commercial side of music down to the underground. Thus the D. Ramirez moniker was born.

Since then labels such as Yoshitoshi, Choo Choo, Phonetic, Thrust, Junior, Whoop!,Lot 49, Four:Twenty and Toolroom have been clamoring for D.Ramirez material and producers such as Tom Stephan (Superchumbo), Deepgroove, Mark Knight, Max Linen and Meat Katie have all been lining up to work with him.

Five Years of Global Underground Music

Global Underground, the UK based superlabel, keeps on celebrating 12 years after its incarnation. Although it started out as a traditional, physical imprint, with mostly cd's and the occasional slab of black gold back in 1996, Andy Horsefield and James Todd's music outlet was among the first to start a digital offshoot in 2002, five years ago.

Ever since the label GU Music has been going strong, sporting the support of old progressive heroes including Pako & Frederik and Roland Klinkenberg, but also minimal, neotrance, electrohouse and even electroclash outfits as of late, including John Acquaviva, Gabriel Ananda and of course the essential Gui Borratto.

Turnmills, one of London's all-time favourite clubbing hotspots, is about to close.

The venue on the corner of Turnmill Street and Clerkenwell Road was the first to obtain a 24 hour dance licence in the UK, singlehandedly creating the trend of all-night clubbing in the 1990's. It was also the home of Trade, the first after hours club in Britain.

Fatboy Slim who wowed fans at the inaugural Rock Ness makes a hugely anticipated return as one of Saturday’s headliners. Acts joining the superstar DJ across the Main Stage, Clash Arena and other bespoke areas include Dundee’s raucous rockers The View in this their only Scottish summer festival appearance, pioneering German electro punksters digitalism who will be performing live and The Cuban brothers.

Remix Sasha and Get Release on EmFire record

According to his website Sasha has asked Beatport to help him find some talented producers to remix his hit single Mongoose for his record label emFire. The remix competition is open to producers from all genres - Sasha's looking for innovative, cutting-edge and thought-provoking mixes of his track. The grand prize winner of the contest will have their remix released digitally on the emFire label and will receive a copy of Ableton Live 7. A runner-up will receive Ableton Live LE.

Twisted Audio Brings Nick Warren to Brixton

Twisted Audio return for there first party of 2008 with none other than Nick Warren at the helm on Friday 01st February. Nick is at present touring the world to promote his Global Underground CDs, working on a new Way Out West album with Jody Wisternoff and working as the director of A&R at Hope Recordings.

This party will be the first in a series of bi-monthly parties at there new home in Brixton and what a way to kick things off. Nick will be joining them for a 3 hour set at Babalou, situated in the heart of Brixton, in the Crypt of a converted church, 2 minutes from Brixton Main Line and Tube.
