Global Breakthrough Festival Returns to Cape Town
Global Breakthrough Festival Returns to Cape Town
Global Breakthrough Festival
If you're sick of the cold winter and ever sicker of spending obscene amounts of money in Ibiza (where, let's be honest, the cops haven't been too friendly of late), then this could be the clubbing holiday you're looking for. The heat of South Africa, coupled with the talent of international DJs like Luciano, Âme and Henrik Schwarz has got to be a winning combination, hasn't it? 365mag took a closer look…in your interests, of course.

Chibuku Shakes it Up for Residents' Special
Chibuku Shakes it Up for Residents' Special
No Images
One of the best nights in the North is back, as Chibuku returns to its home at Liverpool's Barfly on Saturday 19 January, with their regular residents special. Check out the likes of the (now infamous) Wandy, Emma, Leo Beltchz, Futurebound and Tane, plus new ressie Rich Furness too. It's bound to go off big-time…come on, you must have recovered from NYE by now!

Liverpool's clubbers have barely recovered from the wonderfully silly (but musically serious) event that was the Chibuku vs Rumours, an 80s-themed fancy dress affair, when they've got a Chibuku residents special to look forward to.

No more After-Hours Clubs in Ibiza?
No more After-Hours Clubs in Ibiza?
Ibiza, Spain
After last summer's crack down on the clubs of the White Island, now it seems like after-hours events will be banned, in this latest shake-up of the law by Ibiza's increasingly anti-clubbing authorities.

The powers that be in Ibiza are going to force the island's many clubs to close up shop between 6am and 10am, claiming that venues that are open for events at that time have been 'causing a disturbance for residents and less nocturnal holidaymakers, ' to quote a recent article in the UK's Independent by Graham Keeley.

Hi-Tek Soul Hits Pacha NYC
Hi-Tek Soul Hits Pacha NYC
Derrick May
In 2007, Derrick May debuted Hi-Tek Soul, his worldwide techno platform, in NYC to a rapturous response. Now in 2008, Derrick is stepping things up with a big-room assault as Hi-Tek Soul debuts at New York's undisputed nightlife champion: Pacha New York. For those who missed his previous intimate schoolings in proper dance music, this will be a chance to see one of the true historical figures in the international underground scene schooling the dance-floor on what true techno music is all about. It's rare to see techno presented in a big room venue like Pacha these days, so this night should not be missed.

Ministry Mix a Masterpiece With Francois K
Ministry Mix a Masterpiece With Francois K
Francois K
If you're a dance music fan, you've probably got one of the Ministry's compilations… but now it seems they've realised there's more to life than the Annual #379, as they go back to the old school with Masterpieces series - and its first subject, François K.

François K's name is legendary in dance music circles, and for good reason. An NYC clubland original with a background as a drummer, this Frenchman moved to New York in the mid 70s, where he found his true calling as a DJ. There he played gigs at the Paradise Garage and Studio 54, amongst other infamous locales of the era.

Circo Loco New Years Day Held in London
Circo Loco New Years Day Held in London
Circo Loco
Ok, you've done your NYE, you've been to an all-dayer but what do you do in the evening? Well, if you like it minimal / underground / techy, then you go along to Circo Loco at The End, that's what…

Maybe you went out on New Years Eve, or maybe you think that's for all the amateurs and you stayed in, then got on at it one of the many fine all-dayers that are going on in London on New Years Day (Bugged Out, Jaded, And So It Goes on at Canal 125 etc). But whatever the case, if you're up for an evening of messy clubbing with a fantastic crowd, then all nightlife roads lead to Circo Loco at The End on the evening of Tuesday 1 January 2008.

Layo & Bushwacka
It's been another amazing year for The End, so why not celebrate with another party? This time they've got Layo & Bushwacka!, Sancho Panza, Jimpster and Will Saul on the wire, as well as the Lovebox DJs too. Tempting, isn't it?

For the clubber's favourite holiday, The End's really got some of its favourites DJs in the house. First up in the main room are Layo & Bushwacka!, whom fans will know from their monthly Olmeto residency at the club. 2007 has seen the duo get back to releasing tunes, with both Kick Your Ass and Tabloid receiving love on the underground, plus their Global Underground double-CD mix compilation saw them looking both back and forward musically, to excellent effect.
