Lotus Born and raised in Connecticut, having a focused interest in music of many genres, the time would come to create my own. When I was about 9 years old,I acquired a taste for turntablism. By the age of 15, I had my first set of Numarks.
Mixing and scratching had my attention for a while but I felt there was something more. For me, instrumentals was the key.I would throw on a beat and freestyle a few lyrics here and there but was never that serious about it. |

The Stuff Let's get this out of the way up front: the members of Swedish garage rockers the Stuff conceal their identities behind giant rubber rat heads. (They claim to have met in the European sewer system.)
Beyond that, however, the Stuff play a brand of drop-dead cool, hooky garage rock/punk that belies their whimsical attitude toward identity. You can hear a lot of Fun House-era Stooges here, but the Stuff ply their craft with a little more laid-back insouciance than those godfathers of the genre; the lead singer/bassist (listed simply as "the rat in the leather jacket") often drops epithets like he's too cool to care, more Damon Albarn than Iggy Pop. |

At the age of 21 he jumped the wall, leaving family and friends behind to start a new life in West Germany.
Before long Dr. Slide was a fixture in the local blues scene, heading the house band at Berlin's premier blues club, The Blues Cafe. There he shared the stage with many legendary bluesmen. His band opened European shows for Bo Diddley and he was a guest player in Luther Allison's European band. |
