The list of nominees for the 2007 Shortlist Prize have been announced, and there’s 54 on the list. Albums from Klaxons, MIA, Kings of Leon, Justice and LCD Soundsystem have received nods, as have Feist, Spoon and Fionn Regan.
The albums released last year appear on a ‘long list’ of nominees which will be reduced to 10 finalists in the coming weeks. This year’s panel include Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol and Ronnie Vannucci of The Killers. |

 Arcade Fire Fifty-four albums were announced Dec. 21 as the nominees for the 2007 Shortlist Music Prize, which will be handed out early next year.
The prize recognizes albums released between January and November 2007 that have yet to be certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for U.S. shipments of 500,000 units.
Among the nominees are Wilco, Feist, M.I.A., the Arcade Fire, Justice, LCD Soundsystem, Spoon, Eddie Vedder, Iron & Wine, Kings Of Leon, PJ Harvey, Stars, Underworld and Robert Pollard. |

Burt Bacharach is set to get a lifetime achievement Grammy in February.
Also set to win the award are The Band, Doris Day and jazz singer Cab Calloway.
Classical violinist Itzhak Perlman, jazz drummer Max Roach and bluegrass banjo player Earl Scruggs are also set to be honoured, reports ABC news. |
